Restaurants

Much of course depends on personal preference, but we list below some favourites. Always ask if there is a Menú del Día as it offers excellent value for a three-course meal, usually with wine and bread included. A good starting place for searching out restaurants is Calle Huertos, which is one of the roads radiating from the fountain roundabout near the Parador. The following restaurants are all in this street.

La Galeria – friendly service, good food, comfortable surroundings, and very cheap. The Old Cellar – larger, good value. Carlos – excellent for fish. Los Trillizos – more basic and Spanish with excellent value, and go through to the covered patio at the back. El Puente on the bridge the far side of town near Hipersol is also good value for meals and tapas.

El Niño halfway down Almirante Ferrandiz is excellent but not cheap! For that extra special meal you might consider Restaurante 34, Calle Carabeo.

Finally, for the most famous paella in Nerja go to Ayo (←) at the far end of Burriana beach. Not the best paella but excellent atmosphere, cheap, always crowded and you can go up for seconds!
